History: Rodney History
Personality: Rodney McKay is one of the most arrogant and condescending people in the Stargate program. If he wasn't a genius, he would end up getting punched more than he got talked to. Luckily for him, his intelligence and usefulness allowed everyone to forgive his brusqueness. Rodney's normal attitude is one of exasperation towards most people that he deems less intelligent than he his, which is 98% of who he comes into contact.
Despite his irritating demeanor, most of Atlantis is on friendly terms with him, although his inferiority complex makes him wonder why.
Rodney is a highly intelligent individual, which he has no problem letting anyone within earshot know. He is a member of Mensa, which he also drops into casual conversation whenever he is able. Rodney can't help but put people in their places when he believes that they are clearly wrong. Unfortunately for Rodney, that list has included his direct superiors, his friends, and pretty much everyone. he comes across.
Rodney has a strong sense of self-preservation. He is a hypochondriac and hypoglycemic, needing to eat often. Rodney, despite his strong desire to save himself, has shown many acts of heroism and bravery. When the chips are down Rodney McKay is the man that you want in your corner.
